Bathroom Remodel 

Jack is just the BEST contractor to work with! Old school...which means he does it right the first time! Thorough, detailed-oriented, on time, reliable and a nice guy to boot! He's helping us build a bathroom in the basement and it's turned out great. It was total luck we found Jack, I have referred him to all our friends considering remodeling. Seriously, this is the guy to call when you need a top pro... a guy who cares about his clients and his work. Uber stars for Mr. Crandell....he's the best!!

Skylight repair

Jack describes himself as a finish carpenter, and he was definitely that. He installed the finish plywood and trim on the inside of a skylight that had very odd angles. He did it while strengthening the roof structure, and fitted together the complicated finish work with smooth seams. Yup, he'll be back in my house for another project.

Siding Installation and Repair

Jack removed and replaced water damaged siding and window trims of approx. 100sq ft on my 1980's home and did an amazing job. He integrated the new and old siding which were slightly different in size because of age beautifully. He was punctual, reasonably priced and pleasant to work with. I will definitely call Jack for future projects and recommend him highly.

Custom cabinets

We recently moved into a new home and were in need of custom cabinets for beside our fireplace. We had a picture in our mind of what we wanted but were not confident that we could find someone in both our price range and that could bring our vision to life. Jack checked both of those boxes and so much more. He understood exactly what we were looking for, put together a full computer working model and walked us through the process from start to finish. Within three weeks of meeting and signing with Jack, we had our custom cabinets built and installed. They turned out even more perfect than we had imagined. Jack took the time to model them exactly off of our fireplace and home and made them fit as if the mantle were built with them. We are beyond satisfied with his work and would recommend him in a heartbeat. Five stars all the way!!

Custom Built-in Cabinets

Jack Crandell was very responsive and kept me informed at all points. He immediately got the look we were striving for although at the time we were a little unclear in our own minds. He shared his design ideas freely. Very reasonable and promptly installed. He described process clearly and delivered as he stated. A pleasure to work with him- he knows his stuff!

Remodeling, cabinet, trim Installation

 We highly recommend Jack and HouseMasters. We had an idea and a budget. Jack brought the experience and expertise to make it happen, quickly and within budget. Jack is a great listener. He helped us take an existing, poorly designed kitchen storage area and transform it into something functional and beautiful. This included installing a window in the middle of winter! Jack brought positive attitude and flexibility to work every day. This was critical because I try to economize when I can, and re-use and re-purpose existing material we have on our farm. I'm constantly adjusting course. Jack patiently worked with me during these adjustments. The project grew to include finishing two bathrooms and completing trim work on a remodel that had stopped mid-stream. The previous carpenter didn't have the eye or attention for detail that Jack brought. I feel very fortunate to have found him. We have since asked Jack to return to work on additional projects including structural work to our garage and relocating stairs to our barn hay loft and building new barn doors. Whether it's rough carpentry in a barn or finish carpentry in the house, Jack is the man you want on the job. He really saved the kitchen remodel job after the cabinet maker we hired screwed up their measurements twice. Jack took a cabinet that wouldn't fit and made it not only work but look great too. I have no reservations about hiring Jack for any project.

Door Installation/room transformation

I hired John Crandell (aka Jack) to turn a small bedroom into a large walk-in closet. He had to remove the existing closet and entrance door in that room and insert a pocket door into the wall adjoining the Master bedroom to the new walk-in closet. He also installed 4 LED ceiling lights, moved my electric outlets, insulated my attic above the space, and painted the walls and ceiling. What impressed me the most was his knowledge of the job. His estimates were exact, even finding ways to save me money without sacrificing quality. He understood exactly what I wanted and what was needed to get the job done. He made several helpful suggestions. He went above and beyond to not just give me what I asked for, but to do things right to ensure the work lasts. For instance, re-insulating the attic above the space was his idea because it wasn't up to code, and it would save me tons in heating and cooling costs. And after he installed the insulation, I noticed a temperature difference immediately! The work was amazing! I had an interior designer look at the space before I hired Jack. After he had finished, I invited her back over for a second look. She was amazed, not only at how beautiful the space was, but also at the fact that he had done all that work in only a week. I told her what I paid, and she said that was a really good deal. I've never heard of a construction project going so smoothly, but I actually have no complaints. In fact, I am hiring Jack for a few other projects I have on my to-do list.

Bathroom Remodel

Jack is a top-drawer contractor from start to finish. His variety of skill & knowledge of home improvements is amazing. He's one-stop shopping whether it's carpentry, plumbing, electrical or masonry. His pricing is fair, he's punctual & he cleans up after the job. I would highly recommend Jack period.
